The restful and pleasant atmosphere of the oak-beamed Pepperpot Brasserie is a perfect setting in which the visitor or businessman may relax over a leisurely luncheon or dinner.

The variety of the surrounding countryside is reflected in the local produce used in the Bill of Fayre offered as a complement to a full á la carte selection of dishes, all of which are created daily by the hotel's own catering staff.

Speciality and sporting evenings are held occasionally in the dining room, which enjoys an excellent local reputation for good cuisine and its fine and varied wine list.

Snacks and freshly prepared bar meals are served daily in the hotel's comfortable lounge, where a variety of antique prints, pictures, maps and framed magazine and newspaper articles provide an interesting diversion.

Business meetings, with full or buffet meals and drinks service, are held regularly in the hotel conference room, which can accommodate up to 25 people theatre style or 14 when set as a boardroom.

The AA's Rosette Award for high standards of food was won within a year of Chris and Jon's taking over the White Lion, and again in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003

Another recent award is the RAC Dining Award, for food service. Also, the Minotel Gold for higher standard - the White Lion was in the top 10% out of 200 Minotel Hotels.
